Gui Fei Oolong 50 gram

Harvest winter of 2024, and grown at about 500 m altitude in Nantou area. The tea leaves are picked by hand and are allowed to oxidize to about 40%.

Gui Fei Oolong is a relatively new and rare oolong from Taiwan. Because of the big 1999 earthquake in Nantou, Dung Ding area, the tea plantations were left unattended while farmers and residents rebuilt their homes. A particular type of insect started to eat the tea leaves and chewed the edges of the leaves. The damage to leaves caused the tea bushes to react, resulting in a high sweetness in the finished tea, and a new tea was created.

To further increase the sweetness of the tea, the tea is oxidizes to a higher level of up to 40%. Finally the tea leaves are roasted.
