GABA Oolong 100 gram

GABA Oolong is an oolong tea produced using a special method in which the freshly picked tea leaves are treated in an oxygen-free environment, usually filled with nitrogen gas. The lack of oxygen causes the GABA content of the tea leaves to increase naturally during processing.

GABA is an abbreviation for gamma-aminobutyric acid, a substance that occurs naturally in both tea leaves and the human body. No GABA is added to the tea.

The method used to produce GABA tea was originally developed in Japan during the 1980s. It was later introduced to Taiwan, which is now particularly renowned for its production of GABA oolong.
