Lei Kou Chai is a rare and exclusive Feng Huang Dancong oolong tea from the Fenghuang Mountains in Guangdong Province in southern China. The tea belongs to a group of Dancong teas particularly known for their naturally floral, orchid-like aroma.

The name Lei Kou Chai originates from the story of the old mother tea bush, which was struck by lightning and subsequently died gradually. Before the bush was lost, it was preserved through vegetative propagation, and Lei Kou Chai has since continued to be cultivated as a distinct type of Feng Huang Dancong. Lei Kou Chai is particularly associated with Wudong in the Fenghuang Mountains, one of the classic high-altitude growing areas for Dancong tea.

The tea is processed using traditional Feng Huang Dancong methods, in which the leaves are withered, partially oxidised, shaped and roasted. Lei Kou Chai is known for its intensely aromatic character and pronounced floral notes, while the roasting adds depth and structure to the flavour.
