Sencha Yame Saemidori 50 gram

This fukamushi sencha comes from Yame in Fukuoka Prefecture, one of Japan’s best-known regions for high-quality green tea. Yame has a tea-growing tradition spanning around 600 years and is particularly renowned for teas with a full-bodied flavour, pronounced sweetness and rich umami. The tea is produced from the Saemidori cultivar, which is often used to create well-balanced teas with natural sweetness.

Fukamushi means that the tea leaves are steamed for longer than in the production of regular sencha. The deeper steaming produces finer, more broken leaves and an intensely green infusion with a smooth mouthfeel and full-bodied flavour. The result is a sweet, umami-rich sencha with a fresh green character and a long, well-balanced aftertaste.
