Alishan Roasted 70 gram

Very lightly roasted Alishan Oolong. Alishan is one of Taiwan’s best-known tea-growing regions and is particularly renowned for its high-quality oolong teas. The scenic mountain area is also a popular travel destination, known for its forests, mist-covered mountains and expansive views.

The high-elevation tea gardens offer excellent conditions for tea cultivation. The cool climate, frequent mist and relatively limited hours of sunlight cause the tea leaves to develop slowly. The fertile soil and clean mountain air further contribute to the area’s distinctive growing conditions.

The high-mountain climate contributes to lower levels of the catechins responsible for bitterness and astringency, while increasing the levels of theanine and other compounds associated with sweetness and umami. The result is a smooth, full-bodied oolong tea with natural sweetness, a fresh character and a long, aromatic aftertaste.
