A hand picked exclusive black tea from the first picking from the Yame. The tea is of cultivar Benifuuki. Benifuuki is an Assam hybrid used for black tea or oolong teas in Japan. This is a rarity from Japan, a craft tea from a small scale producer. A tea with a lot of flavor in a perfect balance.
Japan was a producer of black tea until 1955. After 1955 the competition was too hard and Japanese black tea stopped producing. Today only a small production remains to meet domestic market, black tea is not normally exported.
